On 11 June 2026, the WU Alumni Lounge took place – presented by Wiener Städtische Versicherung. More than 500 WU alumni, professors, researchers and partners came together at the WU Alumni Lounge as part of the WU Summer Celebration this year. In this special setting, encounters and conversations once again brought home the strength of the connection within the WU community.
WU Rector Rupert Sausgruber opened the Summer Celebration in this exclusive circle. Sebastian Kortmann, the new Dean of the WU Executive Academy, then introduced himself to the network, building on the lifelong learning spirit valued by WU alumni.
A particular highlight of the evening was the recognition of young WU talent. The TALENTA 2026 Award and the Engelbert Dockner Master Thesis Award honored outstanding theses. The award winners were introduced to the community and warmly welcomed into the WU Alumni Network.
Until late into the night, guests networked, celebrated and experienced their connection to WU in a tangible way.
